On June 28 I traveled to Kentucky to appear at The Kentucky-Tennessee Livestock Market in Guthrie, KY for their customer appreciation sale. I was picked up at the airport by LMA’s Jim Carter, and we hustled up the road and grabbed a little lunch before making our way to the market. Jim is a class act, and I really enjoyed my time with him.
Once we arrived, I was greeted by signs the host market had made with the LMA logo and title “Welcome, World Champion Bailey Ballou”! It was an awesome experience to see my name displayed that way, gave me chills! It has been a month now, and I am still getting used to being called a World Champion, but I do love it! LOL
Jim introduced me to many people around the market, and eveyone was very kind and receptive to my being there. One of the highlights of this trip was getting to work with their house auctioneer, Kent Korte! I have admired Kent for quite some time. Many of you may recognize his name, as he has competed in the WLAC many times and has always done well. Kent was a lot of fun and very helpful while I was in the block. Thanks Kent, I enjoyed it!
I must commend Mark and Stephanie Barnett and all the folks at KY-TENN Livestock, they do an amazing job and are a real asset to all of their patrons. We sold about 2,000 head in a “graded livestock” sale, it was really something to see and is truly the best way to serve their customers. I greatly enjoyed myself and am very thankful for the opportunity to visit their market!
